Year End School Activities and Fun

Year End School Activities and Fun

The end of the school year is fast approaching! Every teacher has mixed emotions. It will definitely be great to have a summer break. And, starting a new year with a new class and fresh ideas is very rejuvenating. However, it has been fun learning and growing with your class. Saying goodbye can be tough. Giving each student a little memento is a fun way to recognize and wish them well. Conducting some Year end school activities is also a good idea to create memories.

There are many types of memory books, awards, and certificates available online. Pinterest has some great ideas that other teachers have shared. Teachers Pay Teachers is another awesome place to find “ready to go” products. Many certificates are free and editable. The memory books provide an interesting way to review the year and give the kids some fun activities. Even if you pay a little for the designer’s time, you get some adorable downloads that you can use again another year.

  • These candy bar awards by Tunstall’s Teaching Tidbits will be a hit with your students. Students receive a sweet treat and a certificate for their scrapbook. Don’t forget to treat yourself with an award too!

  • An end of the year memory book and super cute poster, by Kelly Benefield, uses a fun play on the word “owl” for “all.” Owls are a very popular theme among teachers. You may be a fan too!

  • Students will love the idea for a summer countdown bucket. Krista Mehrtens has included some great photos and downloads to make this rewarding countdown activity work in your classroom.
A Countdown Bucket, A summer countdown activity. This is only a “drop in the bucket” of ideas out there. You probably have other great ways to keep your kiddos entertained and learning until the last day of school. Be sure and take advantage of a chance to “ham it up” when you present the awards. It’s OK to let your hair down for an hour. The kids will love it. 🙂

Good luck to all of you hardworking and under-appreciated educators. May you have a funfilled end of the year, making memories for you and your students!
