IIT or IIM: Which has a bigger Brand Value?

The brand is the most significant aspect in the commercial world. Be it IIT, IIM, a product or a service everything has got a brand value in the market. All the organization focuses on their branding strategy to make a better presence in the eyes of the customers. Having a brand value is itself a matter of pride for an organization. In the recent years, people choose the brand over a product. A very famous saying goes that ‘A customer never buys a product of a particular brand they always tend to choose a brand for a particular product.

At every stage of life, brand value matters the most for us. We the consumers are highly addicted to brand as it gives us a satisfaction of the product being good. Here it will be a discussion on the brand value of two premium educational institution in India. The diversity of brand has even entrapped educational scene in the country. People choose colleges and universities based on its brand name. Education remains a secondary factor.

IIT or IIM?

The two pioneer of education IIT and IIM in India has been listed in the world ranking of colleges and universities.

The Indian institute of technology and Indian Institute of Management can never be compared. Both are the pioneer in giving good education, discipline and building better future for the students.

Right now both technology and management are important for a better job prospect. An engineer with a management degree is highly valued in the market. A person with a degree from both IIT and IIM will not really find difficult to fetch a job with a heavy package. Apart from being the leader in supreme education, both these places have a high brand value in the eyes of the public.

In this case, the brand power can be judged based on the subjects of these two educational institutes.   On one side it is technology and on the other it is management.

Brand power depends upon the demand of the subjects.  In the recent years, management is given more preference than technology. A company focuses more on a candidate who has got an MBA degree along with engineering. Although we have seen in recent years that there are higher number of startup entrepreneurs from IIT than IIM.

The demand for studying management is huge in the country. This has become the most highlighted and needed subject for a prosperous future. Based on the demand and the future aspect of management IIM can be noted to have a better brand value than IIT.

Brand gets created based on the choice of people. Here both the institutes are equally chosen by the people for their career. It is actually impossible to differentiate the brand status of these two institutions.

The brand is something which is created over a long time period by the people.  Both these institutes have given some real jewels to various industries. The brand value of these two places has always been on the top no matter what comes in between.
