Cyber law is also an extremely important area of legal training. In fact, legal professionals usually enroll for such training as they recognize its emerging importance. For the present generation of law students, studying cyber law then becomes a must. The need for studying cyber law arises due to several reasons.
The majority of countries in the world have an existing well-defined and detailed legal system. Many laws are enacted and have been implemented throughout the years. However, with the emergence of the Internet, new issues and problems have come up. For example, the use of social media and widespread information has been shown to be highly detrimental in some cases. Many such cases require the intervention of authorities. For instance, a video can be shown via the internet where a person has been kidnapped. However, the IP address cannot be found because it has been manipulated with by a cyber-criminal. Another example includes the theft of personal information in order to harass people. Their private data can be stolen by hacking their social media accounts such as Facebook or Twitter accounts, and these are used in blackmailing. Again, cyber laws are required to put an end to such criminal practice. Social media platforms also have the obligation of abiding by these cyber laws.
Since we are currently in an age of “cyber boom”, it would only be wise to study cyber law. The prospects provided by such studies are bright. Companies are highly concerned about their information and data. They are ready to hire people who can protect these for them.
