Undergraduate Entrance Exams 2016 Students Can Consider After 12th

The period after 12th board exams marks the most crucial phase of a student’s life as how he performs during this period decides the course his career will take. Often students, start preparing from 11th standard for the undergraduate entrance exams they wish to crack after 12th class. Here, we present to you a few exams which you must track after your 12th Exams.

1.    JOINT ENTRANCE EXAM (JEE MAINS & ADVANCE)

JEE Mains is a national level entrance exam conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education on the first Sunday of the month of April for admission to various Engineering colleges including the NITs, IITs, IITM, IITDM,IIITs and sixteen other Government-Funded Institutions and various self-financed deemed universities and other institutions.

Students who manage to secure a rank in top 1.5 lakh students are eligible to give JEE Advance in the month of June.

2.    NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE EXAM (NEET)

NEET, formerly, All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) is a must for medical aspirants to get themselves admitted to good MBBS and BDS colleges across India and responsibility of conducting this exam lies with the Central Board of Secondary Education for admission to government medical/dental colleges all over India as well as Delhi University, BHUAFMCJamia Hamdard etc. As per Supreme Courts new guidelines, the State and Private exams will no more be conducted and NEET would be an umbrella exam catering to all the medical institutes of the nation.

3.    ENTRANCE EXAM for AIIMS MBBS

This exam is conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at National Level for admission to MBBS seats in AIIMS New Delhi and to the other six new AIIMS like institutions for 72 seats in the MBBS course in Delhi and 100 each in other AIIMS like institutions. This is the most esteemed Medical examination of the nation and cracking this a matter of pride for a medical aspirant.

4.    COMMON LAW ADMISSION TEST (CLAT)

The exam is conducted for admission to undergraduate and post graduate programmes at the fourteen National Law Universities of the country, and each year one of these universities takes the responsibility to conduct the exam. CLAT covers English, General Knowledge/ current affairs Numerical ability, Legal Aptitude and Logical reasoning and is a 2 hour examination.

5.    NATIONAL COUNCIL OF HOTEL MANAGEMENT & CATERING TECHNOLOGY JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMS (NCHMCT JEE)

This exam is conducted for admission to B.Sc Hospitality and Hotel Administration (HHA) at India’s twenty-one central government IHMs, fourteen state government IHMs and fifteen private IHMs which are affiliated to the Council. This is the most prestigious undergraduate entrance examination in the Hospitality arena and is conducted by the National council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint (NCHMCT).

6.     NIFT entrance test

This exam is conducted for admission to bachelor programs – B. Design and B.F.Tech into National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).  For Admission into B.Des. three exams are taken- GAT, CAT and Situation test. For admission to B.F Tech, students have to appear in only GAT test.

7.    Common Proficiency Test (CPT)

The CPT exam is conducted by the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), which is the first stepping stone to a candidate becoming a Chartered Accountant. This is the first tier of the 3-tier examinations conducted by ICAI, the other two are conducted only for the students who are enrolled into a Chartered Accountancy program with ICAI.
