These days students are bit ambiguous that what should be their higher and intermediate school target score to study abroad. So let me tell you that it varies according to the type of colleges or universities you are applying for. Let us consider all these points in details: –

Researches says that when you are applying in top ten universities of the world 90 percent looks decent on your profile but in other universities getting a distinction that is 75 percent is enough. They basically look at the other extracurricular activities you have performed in your school days apart from the percentage and even activities like sports at a national level works a quite bit. In addition to it you must possess excellent writing, reading skills that is basically a very good communication skills and a decent IELTS, TOEFL or SAT score.

These days’ medical courses in abroad is gaining a hype and student are applying in countries like Russia, China, Philippines, Colombia, Ukraine, Georgia, Romania, Belarus and in most of the central American and European countries. In order to pursue a medical degree in these countries one must have to pass an intermediate with BIPC group with at least 50 percent. Different countries require different marks for their undergraduate courses: –

Germany

In Germany education standards are very high and they expect at least 90 percent in order to pursue an undergraduate course.

United States of America

Surveys have conducted and it is estimated that in order to study abroad in the United states of America you have to score at least 75 percent in your intermediate and high school exams but in order to qualify for the scholarship you must need at least 90 percent.

Canada

The study requirements in Canada varies from courses to courses. English requirement is a must for the Indian student and for the humanities stream you need to score at least 65 percent and above in your 12th standard, similarly for science and commerce students a minimum marks ranging from 70 to 80 percent is required in the 12th standard.  Diploma and foundation courses are available for students who secured less than 60 percent in their 12th standard.

United Kingdom

In United Kingdom students have to secure 65 percent or more having humanities as an option. More than 75 percent is required for students belonging to the science, commerce in standard 12th.For diploma courses is an option for students who scored less than 60 percent.

New Zealand

New Zealand is one of the coldest country in the world having a pleasant weather and students must consider studying there, here most of the universities requires you to score minimum of 75 percent in your 12th standard and a barrier of at least 60 percent in English.
