Students aspiring for Chartered Accountancy have to first appear in a Common Proficiency Test conducted by ICAI. This test an entry level test consisting of multiple choice questions. The test also has negative marking policy.
Students can appear for this test right after clearing their XII standard exams. Registration with ICAI can be done after passing class X.
Commerce graduates or Post Graduate having a score of more than 55% can skip CPT exams. Also non commerce graduates or post graduates having a score of more than 60% are also eligible to get exemption from appearing for CPT.
